- hummus, olives, and pita with virtually every meal
- the google and blogger homepage in hebrew text and right-justified text
- shopkeepers who know how to say "i make you a deal" in 12 different languages
- tea with mint
- limestone (streets, staircases, walls, bridges..........)
- the "ancient" feel......this place is rooted in thousands of years of tradition
- the community
things i won't miss
- horns (the traffic language)
- hot-sweaty-humid days (though i know there's pleanty more waiting for me in the states)
- the crowds at "tourist" locations
i know some of you will be disappointed to hear this, but
......i just can't wait to come back some day.

I'll come with you when you go back...
me too, i'll go too!!!!
it may be hot and sweaty here, but thankfully it's not humid...YUCK!
roommate, how exciting and fun and challenging and fascinating! this trip, these experiences...i am so glad YOU had this wonderful opportunity, so glad! :)
I'm really embarrassed by how little i know about Israel. I had never heard of Yad Vashem. It sounds like the experience you had is similar to the one i had when i visited Auschwitz. And when i say a "similar experience", i really just mean similar by the emotions it arouses. I really would love to discuss all this with you when you come home.
When you go back, friend: let's go together.
